Professional Meetings
|
It is important that our professional colleagues see the benefits of EOS interdisciplinary
research. Therefore, we must demonstrate to them the type of work we are currently doing and show
them they can also participate in this activity. The EOS Volcanology Team has formed an
International Commission for the Remote Sensing of Volcanoes, under the auspices of the
International Association for Volcanology and Chemistry of the Earth's Interior (IAVCEI).
Special workshops on remote sensing and poster displays such as Keith Horton's (shown here at
the IAVCEI Conference in Canberra, Australia) are used to show volcanologists the value of our
work. A goal of the EOS Project as a whole is to show the Earth Science Community the value of
time-series, global interdisciplinary investigations. Photo by Pete Mouginis-Mark.
